Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Eagle Grove girls golf compete in Class 2A, Region 2A Tournament

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls and Eagle Grove Eagles girls golf teams made the trip west on Friday, to compete in the Class 2A, Region 2A tournament at Holstein Country Club, hosted by Ridge View. The Cowgirls and Eagles were joined by the host Raptors, as well as Sioux Central, Manson-Northwest Webster, Okoboji, Cherokee Washington and Pocahontas Area.

For the CGD girls, their day was led by the duo of Emily Christensen and Karina Torress, who each shot a score of 94 to finish in a tie for 3rd and move on to the regional final. Other scores for CGD golfers have not been made available as of yet, but the Cowgirls finished 3rd with a score of 398, just missing the cut for a berth in the regional final that will be held at Clarmond Country Club in Clarion.

Eagle Grove saw their top performer in in Piper Willard, who shot a 94, which tied her with the top-two CGD golfers for 3rd place, and will have her move on to the regional final tournament. As a team, Kennedy Thacker shot a 99 on the day, while Alexa Jeske and Ella Jensen shot a 109 and 110 respectively. Clara Moffit and Olivia Andersen rounded out the Eagles lineup with scores of 112 and 124, respectively. Eagle Grove placed 4th with a team score of 412, which missed the cut for a trip to the regional final.
