Hamilton County reporting 58.6 percent of the population have received the COVID vaccination.

The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting on its COVID website that 58.6 percent of the population in Hamilton County have been fully vaccinated. This includes those of who have been vaccinated with the Johnson and Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. The vaccinations started a year ago this month. In surrounding counties, Boone County is reporting 59.6 percent of its population have been vaccinated, Franklin County with 50.2 percent, Hardin County at 52.5 percent, Story County at 58.6 percent, Webster County at 53.7 percent and Wright County at 53.4 percent.

The positivity rate in Hamilton County is at 7 percent as of December 7. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 2,894 positive tests taken. There have been 57 deaths reported in Hamilton County due to COVID since March,2020.
