Webster City cross country to compete in Fort Dodge Invitational

The Webster City cross country teams will make the short jog west on Highway 20 to compete in the Fort Dodge Invitational at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. The boys meet will include top competition including Class 4A #2 Dowling Catholic, 4A #5 Johnston, 4A #7 Norwalk, 4A #9 Urbandale, 4A #12 Ankeny, 4A #15 Ankeny Centennial, 4A #19 Indianola, Class 3A #1 Dallas Center-Grimes, 3A #11 Newton, 3A #15 Carlisle, and Class 1A #15 Fort Dodge, St. Edmond.

Senior’s Jose Ramirez and Cole Reiling are off of top 15 finishes in the Dick Bell Invitational on Tuesday night, and will look to keep pace with some of the best runners in Iowa on Thursday night. The Webster City girls will face off with ranked foes such as Class 4A #2 Des Moines Roosevelt, 4A #4 Ames, 4A #6 Johnston, 4A #8 Ankeny, 4A #9 Ankeny Centennial, 4A #10 Dowling Catholic, 4A #11 Waukee, 4A #18 Southeast Polk, 4A #19 Urbandale, Class 3A #3 Ballard, 3A #14 Dallas Center-Grimes, 3A #18 Carlisle, Class 1A #4 Fort Dodge, St. Edmond, and 1A #19 Manson-Northwest Webster.

The meet is slated to start at 4:30 PM on Thursday evening.
