Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball hosting triangular

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will kickoff a busy week on the volleyball court by hosting a triangular on Tuesday night with Pocahontas Area and Algona. The Cowgirls come into Tuesday after a 1-4 weekend at the Forest City Tournament, the lone win coming against Roland-Story.

Pocahontas Area comes into the triangular with a 5-13 record, following an 0-4 showing at the OABCIG Tournament on Saturday. Junior Paige Melohn leads the Indians offensively with 91 kills on the season, she is supported by sophomore Jenna Vonnahme and junior Megan Sump, who have 64 kills and 58 kills respectively. Junior Carly Janssen leads the team with 194 assists as well.

Algona comes into Tuesday night with a 4-13 on the season, and are lead by juniors Lillian Etherington and A’Lailiah Perry. Etherington leads the team in assists with 216, while Perry leads the team in kills with 140. Perry also leads the Bulldogs in blocks with 22, while junior Cailey Carrol has 18 blocks for Algona.

The triangular is scheduled to start at 5 PM at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School in Clarion.
