65 Rural Fire Departments in Iowa Receive $222,000 in Gifts from Iowa Select Farms and Deb & Jeff Hansen Foundation

OWA FALLS, IOWA – October 7, 2026 – Iowa Select Farms and the Deb & Jeff Hansen Foundation are proud to announce the launch of Farm to Frontline, supporting rural first responders and the communities they serve across Iowa.

As part of the initiative, the Foundation provides $222,000 in total support to 65 rural fire departments during National Pork Month and Fire Prevention Month. Sixty-four fire departments will receive $3,000 to help purchase tools, equipment and supplies, while the Iowa Falls Fire Department, home of Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation, received a $30,000 gift as part of the initiative’s launch in September.

Fire departments receiving gifts are: Ackley, Afton, Albert City, Alden, Alexander, Allison, Aplington, Auburn, Belmond, Bloomfield, Bradford, Bradgate, Breda, Buckeye, Churdan, Clarion, Clarksville, Clearfield, Creston, Cylinder, Diagonal, Dows, Early, Eldora, Ellsworth, Fonda, Goldfield, Greene, Grundy Center, Gowrie, Hampton, Havelock, Holstein, Hubbard, Humeston, Ida Grove, Jewell, Kamrar, Kanawha, Kellerton, Keosauqua, Kiron, Lake City, Lake View, Lime Springs, Mount Ayr, Murray, Osage, Odebolt, Parkersburg, Radcliffe, Riceville, Rockwell City, Rolfe, Sac City, Shell Rock, Stacyville, St Ansgar, Stanhope, Steamboat Rock, Union, Washington, West Bend, Williams and Woodburn.

“These departments are there when people need them most,” said Deb Hansen, co-founder of Iowa Select Farms and the Deb & Jeff Hansen Foundation. “When an emergency happens in a rural community, these firefighters don’t hesitate. They show up for their neighbors, their friends, and communities. Farm to Frontline is our way of saying thank you and helping make sure they have the tools and equipment they need to continue doing that important work.”

The 65 fire departments receiving support serve communities where Iowa Select Farms operates and its employees, contractors, farmers and families live and work. Several Iowa Select Farms employees are also volunteer firefighters in these communities.

Many of the departments have also responded to emergencies at Iowa Select Farms facilities, providing critical assistance to employees and communities when it matters most.
“Our farms are part of these communities, and we see firsthand how important rural first responders are,” said Jeff Hansen, co-founder of Iowa Select Farms and the Deb & Jeff Hansen Foundation. “They are our neighbors, and they are the people who run toward an emergency when everyone else is trying to get away from it. We’re grateful for the work they do every day, and we want to help strengthen the departments that help keep rural Iowa safe.”

The initiative builds on the Hansen family’s longstanding commitment to supporting the Iowa communities where they live, work and farm.

Farm to Frontline is also part of Iowa Select Farms’ broader commitment to Community Care, one of the four pillars of its SelectCare framework. Through Community Care, the company and the Deb & Jeff Hansen Foundation support programs that strengthen rural communities, address food insecurity, support military families and veterans and provide opportunities to children living with cancer.
