Webster City- An autumn pastime returns to Webster City High School next week with Homecoming. A number of local businesses will have their windows painted for the big week by students. There will also be theme days for students and staff starting this Monday,October 5th. The candidates for the Webster City Homecoming Queen and King were announced on Tuesday. This year’s Queen contestants are Amanda Lahr, Hayden McCoy, Avery Poppen, Lovie Pruismann and Tristyn Wright. The King contestants include Grant Arends, Coyce Bertran, Luke Blake, Kaleb Hansen and Zach Lahr. Students will vote for their choice in the coming days at the High School. The Homecoming Queen and King will be announced during the Boom Night festivities at the High School on Thursday, October 8th at 7:00 p.m. The next day will bring the Homecoming parade through Webster City. It will begin at 2:30 PM on Friday, October 9. The parade will travel north on Seneca Street from West Twin Park, turn west on Second Street, turn south on Des Moines Street and end at the Webster City Middle School. Organizations that are school related and nothing political can sign up at the school office to be a part of the Homecoming parade you may contact the high school office at 832-9210. All entries must be submitted by Wednesday, October 7, 3:30 pm. The Homecoming football game is set for 7:00 p.m. at Lynx Field as Webster City will face the Golden Bears of Bishop Heelan from Algona. Homecoming will wrap up on Saturday,October 10th with the annual dance from 8 until 11 at the High School.
