Des Moines- Four Hamilton County farm families were recognized at the Iowa State Fair this week with Century and Heritage Farn honors by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. The Heritage Farm honors this year went to Amy and Darrell Kleckner of Webster City for the farm the family has owned since 1876 and to Carolynn Jean Miller of Webster City for the farm owned by the family since 1871. This year’s Century Farm honorees include Janet Ostebee Lindseth of Ellsworth.The family has owned the farm since 1912. Also honored was Allen Trampel of Kamrar for the farm the family has owned since 1926. This year 514 Iowa families were recognized during the Iowa State Fair with the Century and Heritage Farm honors. The annual recognition celebrates families who have owned their farms for 100 and 150 years, respectively. The honors were first announced in 1976 during America’s 200th birthday celebration
