Ellsworth- The Ellsworth City Council Monday evening approved granting a one-year timeline for the accessory building at 546 Des Moines Avenue to be moved to allow the appropriate easement to be compliant with local ordinance with a six month check in by the property owner on progress of the project following written notification of violation. The compliance must be completed by August 10,2027. Ellsworth City Clerk Heidi Eckers will reach out to the Jewell City Clerk to collaborate on a fee schedule and parameters listed in the proposed ordinance for E-Bikes, Scooters, and Electric Vehicles. The issue will be discussed further at the next council meeting later this month.
In another matter, the Ellsworth City Council approved the road closure for the Trinity Lutheran Church Rally Day on September 13th from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The council approved the quote to repair the storm water drainage issue on Park Avenue in the amount of $31,335.48. Another quote was approved by the council for the replacement of the water main from Park Avenue going north to the end of the city limits on Ubben Avenue by Hall’s in the amount of $76,326.84 using electric sinking funds. A resolution will be prepared for the Ellsworth City Council to vote on at the next council session approving the interfund loan.
Lynda Law was hired by the council to fill the new role of Accounting Associate for the City of Ellsworth.
