Fort Dodge-Police in Fort Dodge continue with their investigation of a Saturday night stabbing outside the Star Convenience Store at 1601 Fifth Avenue South shortly before 11:00 p.m. When authorities arrived, they located 18-year-old Dawson D. Skoland Rattway of Fort Dodge, suffering from a laceration to his right arm. Witnesses on the scene advised that the suspect had fled prior to the arrival of the officers. Skoland Rattray was transported by ambulance and then Life Flighted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. It is believed that the victim’s injuries are not life threatening. After interviewing witnesses by the Fort Dodge Police, the officers responded to the location of the suspect where he was detained without incident. He is identified as 45-year-old David J. Richman of Bayard, Iowa. Richman was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Serious Injury, which is a Class D Felony. Assisting Fort Dodge Police in their investigation include members of the Fort Dodge Fire Department and Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
