WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team returned to action on Tuesday evening, as they hosted the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field. Webster City entered at 5-2-2, while Iowa Falls-Alden entered at 1-10.
The Lynx looked to bounce back after their 3-0 shutout loss to Wright County on Monday, as the purple gold made sure to make their presence known early, with junior Aaron Mendoza finding the back of the net in the 11th minute to give the Lynx a 1-0 lead. Just minutes later, junior Dany Morales drew a foul in the box, which led to a 17th-minute penalty kick that gave Webster City a 2-0 lead, which lasted into the halftime break.
Webster City kept their foot on the gas in the 2nd half, as the Lynx struck in the 51st minute on a Jaime Martinez Andrial goal off a Francisco Revolorio Guinac assist to put the Lynx ahead 3-0. Webster City capped off their offensive performance with an Aeden Anderson penalty kick in the 74th minute to take a 4-0 lead, as a late Iowa Falls-Alden goal brought the final to 4-1 Lynx.
Webster City boys soccer returns to action on Thursday, as they host the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field, with kickoff at 5:30 PM.
