Webster City motorist escapes injury in late night accident on Wednesday.

The vicinity of James Street and Overpass Drive was the scene of a one-vehicle accident just before midnight Wednesday night. Webster City Police reported an eastbound 2006 model Chevrolet Equinox SUV operated by Eric Crawford of Webster City was traveling up to the curved incline when the vehicle lost traction and spun for 180 degrees. This caused the Crawford SUV to strike the westbound guardrail on Overpass Drive. There was minimal damage done to the guardrail. The damage to the Crawford SUV was done to the passenger doors causing them to be non operational. There was also damage to the front passenger tire which ended up to be deflated from the impact. There were no injuries in the accident. Investigating officer Matt Meyer estimated the damage to the Crawford SUV at $3000.
