On Tuesday night, the Ellsworth City Council voted to approve the Fiscal Year 2027 Fire Department budget of $68,750 and the Fiscal Year 2027 EMS budget of $21,350. The council approved the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget of $45,850 for the Ellsworth Public Library. After the budget approval, the Ellsworth City Council held a discussion on the budget for the Public Works Department. Ellsworth Mayor Barry Anksorus and the council members have submitted all but the final three surveys to the city clerk for the MIDAS LMI survey. The rest will be attempted this week. MIDAS staff will be stopping by the Ellsworth City Hall later this week to pick up the surveys.
The Ellsworth City Council held a discussion on nuisance trees in the community. Ellsworth City Clerk Heidi Eckers will reach out to Robb’s Tree Service for an updated per-tree removal rate and will prepare a resolution by the next council meeting on March 9th.
In another matter on Tuesday, the Ellsworth City Council approved the WHKS Engineering Scope of Work quote for the Main Street project in the amount of $9,400 to be budgeted for the 2027 fiscal year. The date of April 13th was approved for the hearing on the Ellsworth Fiscal Year 2027 Property Tax Levy set to start at 6:00 p.m. prior to the council meeting.
