Cause behind Saturday afternoon turkey barn fire in southern Hamilton County remains under investigation.

Ellsworth-Large plumes of smoke Saturday afternoon could be seen off Interstate 35 as the result of a fire to a turkey barn near Ellsworth. The fire was first reported after 1:00 p.m. Both the Ellsworth and Jewell Fire Departments responded to the scene to extinguish the flames and smoke at the structure. Officials said there were birds inside the barn. The building was declared a total loss. There were no injuries reported in the fire. The cause of Saturday’s fire remains under investigation.
