The Iowa State Patrol investigated an accident Wednesday night in Ames involving motorcycle and a pedestrian. The accident happened at around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Way and South Russell Avenue. Reportedly a westbound 2025 model Kawasaki motorcycle operated by Steven J. Salazar of Ames struck 80-year-old Margaret Olson of Ames as she was crossing the street at the time. Olson was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines by Life Flight for treatment of her injuries. There were no injuries to Salazar. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the accident scene by Ames Police and the Story County Sheriff’s Department.
