Webster City wrestling places 2nd at home invitational on Saturday

WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx wrestling team returned to action on Saturday morning, as they hosted the Webster City Invitational at Webster City High School. The Lynx were joined by Creston, Des Moines Lincoln, Des Moines North, Des Moines Roosevelt, Nodaway Valley and Panorama.

Webster City placed 2nd in the tournament with 134.5 points, as Creston won with 187.5 points. The Lynx crowned two champions on Saturday, as Ty Bingham won at 113 pounds with a major decision and a pin, while Cody Elliott won at 215 pounds with a major decision, a pin and a tech fall.

Second-place finishers for Webster City were Angel Ramirez at 106, Gavin Wynkoop at 144 and Eli Estlund at 190, as 3rd place finishers for the Lynx were Tariq Burton (126), Dawson Bertran (138), Ridge Berninghaus (157) and Peyton Weisburg (285).

Webster City wrestling returns to action on Saturday, as they host their Class 2A, District 10 tournament at Webster City High School, beginning at 10 AM and will be broadcast on 95.7 KQWC or streaming online at kqradio.com.
