South Hamilton basketball drops road HOIAC doubleheader at PCM

MONROE, Ia. — The South Hamilton Hawks basketball teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip south into Jasper County to take on the PCM Mustangs in Heart of Iowa Conference action at PCM High School.

The Hawk girls battled well early with a top 10 Mustang squad, trailing just 17-10 after the first quarter, but PCM would blow the doors open in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Hawks 21-6 to take a 38-16 halftime lead. PCM kept their foot on the gas in the 3rd quarter before easing off in the 4th to grab a 62-33 win.

South Hamilton stats were not available as of Wednesday morning, as Kyra Naeve led PCM with 20 points.

In the boys game, PCM jumped on the Hawks off the rip, leading 22-6 after the first quarter, but South Hamilton responded in the 2nd quarter, only trailing 29-22 at halftime. However, the Mustang offense jumped to life in the 2nd half for 50 points to cap a 79-45 win.

Stats were not available on Bound as of Wednesday morning.

South Hamilton basketball returns to action on Friday, as they host the Perry Bluejays in Heart of Iowa Conference action at South Hamilton High School, with tipoff at 6 PM.
