WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx wrestling team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the Ballard Bombers for a non-conference dual at Webster City High School.
Webster City picked up forfeit wins at 106 and 113 from Angel Ramirez and Ty Bingham, as Lincoln Brookshire would lose by tech fall to Nolan Adams, before Grant Fulkerson pinned Tariq Burton as the Lynx led 12-11. Jaysen Vankham would lose by fall at 132 to a top-5 wrestler in Easton Enyeart, before Dawson Bertran and Gavin Wynkoop got the Lynx back in the win column with decision wins at 138 and 144 to put Webster City ahead 18-17.
Ballard then reeled off 5 straight wins with a Carter Jeffs pin at 150, a Landon Askelsen pin at 157, a Jayden Leland tech fall at 165, a forfeit win at 175 and a Greyson Ehresman decision at 190 to put the Bombers ahead 43-18. Cody Elliott would pin Leif Jorgensen at 215, as Peyton Weisberg pinned Walter Sterk at 285 to bring the final to 43-30.
Webster City wrestling returns to action on Saturday, as they compete in the annual Norsemen Duals at Roland-Story, beginning at 10 AM in Story City.
