Mendoza and Nohrenberg crowned Webster City High School Winterfest Queen and King on Thursday afternoon.

Heidi Mendoza and Cole Nohrenberg were crowned the 2026 Webster City High School Winterfest Queen and King Thursday afternoon during a coronation ceremony at Prem Sahai Auditorium. Both Mendoza and Nohrenberg will reign over the festivities of Winterfest through this Saturday. The queen contestants this year included Jakaela Cherry, Kate Feltz, Kaylee Kohl and Addelyn Pruismann. The king contestants included Jack Barner, Justin Callahan, Braylon Dyvig and Jaxon Griffith. There will be special theme days this week for the students and staff. Friday will bring Lynx Pride Day with everyone encouraged to wear the school colors of purple and gold. The Lynx will face Algona in girl boy basketball doubleheader at 6 p.m. on Friday evening at the high school gym. The play by play will be broadcast live on KZWC AM 1570 and kqradio.com. The Winterfest celebration wraps up Saturday night with a dance at the high school from 8 until 11 p.m.
