Webster City basketball drops road NCC doubleheader to Iowa Falls-Alden

IOWA FALLS, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx basketball teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip east on Highway 20 to take on the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets in North Central Conference action at Iowa Falls-Alden High School. The Lynx girls entered at 6-8, while the Lynx boys entered at 2-11.

Webster City would get out to a promising start in the girls game, as the Lynx led 19-8 after the first quarter. Iowa Falls-Alden would close the gap in the 2nd quarter to trail 29-21 at the halftime break, as the Cadets drew closer after 3 quarters at 43-41. Webster City would not be able to hold the lead in the 4th as Iowa Falls-Alden escaped with a 60-53 win.

The boys game followed as Iowa Falls-Alden jumped out to a 21-11 after the first quarter, extending the lead to 34-16 at halftime. Webster City would begin to rally in the 2nd half, but could not overcome the first half deficit in a 64-57 defeat.
