EAGLE GROVE, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles basketball teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Lake Mills Bulldogs in Top of Iowa West action at Eagle Grove Elementary School. The Eagle girls entered at 3-12, while the Eagle boys entered at 5-10.
Eagle Grove would trail just 22-13 after the first quarter, but Lake Mills would crank the intensity knob after that, shutting out the Eagles in the 2nd quarter to take a 41-13 halftime lead. The Bulldogs would dominate the 2nd half en route to a 77-21 victory.
Myka Anderson led the Eagles with 9 points, while Taytum Edwards had 7 points. Cora Sauer led Lake Mills with 23 points.
The Eagle boys followed as they trailed the Bulldogs by a score of 18-12 after the first quarter, as Lake Mills slightly extended that lead by halftime, up 32-22. The Eagles offense couldn’t keep the pace with Lake Mills in the 2nd half as the Bulldogs came away with a 66-50 win.

Eagle Grove basketball returns to action on Thursday, when the travel to Algona to take on the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears in Top of Iowa West action with girls tip at 6:15 PM.
