CLARION, Ia. — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys and Eagle Grove Eagles wrestling teams returned to action on Monday night, as they were joined by the Forest City Indians for a non-conference tri-dual at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School.
The meet opened with Eagle Grove defeating Forest City by a score of 40-33, as the Eagles picked up wins by fall from Andrew Orozco (120), Dylan Terwilliger (126), and Colson Schafer (144), with a major decision from Jayden Kreitlow (175), and decisions from Hunter Waldo Martinez (132) and Christian Schild. The Eagles picked up forfeit wins from Hayden Schafer (157) and James Harle (285).
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows then defeated Forest City by a score of 64-18, as the Cowboys picked up wins by fall from Cole Wibholm (106), Paxton Redenius (120), Adrian Phetxoumphone (132), Dawson Beyer (150), Ryland Morgan (165) and Easton Beyer (175), with tech falls from Linden Phetxoumphone (138) and Ryan Hartwig (144). Forfeit wins were awarded to Estuardo Lopez (113) and JT Kelso (285).
The Cowboys then downed Eagle Grove in a rivalry matchup to end the night by a score of 61-15, as the Cowboys picked up wins by fall from Adrian Phetxoumphone (132), Ryan Hartwig (138), Ryland Morgan (165), and JT Kelso (285) with tech falls from Estuardo Lopez (106) and Paxton Redenius (120), as Easton Beyer (175) won by decision and Cole Wibholm (106) and Colin Sesker (157) won by forfeit. Eagle Grove would pick up wins by fall from Christian Schild (190) and Hilario Santos (215) with a sudden victory from Colson Schafer (144).
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling returns to action next Tuesday, when they host the winner of Denver and Humboldt in their Class 2A Regional Dual, beginning at 6 PM on 95.7 KQWC or streaming online at kqradio.com. Eagle Grove wrestling returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Charger Invitational at Guthrie Center, beginning at 10 AM.
