Boone will be one of the overnight stops for this year’s RAGBRAI event set for July 19 through 25th. This will be the fifth time Boone will host the thousands of bicyclists. The announcement was made public during a celebration Saturday night at Waukee. The route this year will be the shortest route at 391 miles. This will also be the 10th-hilliest with 16,027 feet of climb. The ride will begin in Onawa. Other overnight stops in addition to Boone will be Harlan, Guthrie Center, Marshalltown, Independence, Dyersville and ending in Dubuque. The full route for the RAGBRAI bike ride will be released in April.
