FORT DODGE, Ia. — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys and Cowgirls basketball teams returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the short trip into Webster County to take on the St. Edmond Gaels in North Central Conference action at St. Edmond Catholic School. The Cowgirls entered at 0-13, while the Cowboys entered at 9-3.
St. Edmond would get out and run early, leading the Cowgirls 17-0 after the first quarter, extending the lead to 36-5 at halftime. The Gaels would ease off the gas in the 2nd half for a 54-8 victory.
CGD stats were not available on Bound as of Friday morning.
The boys game followed as despite a close game early on, St. Edmond’s offensive firepower would be too much as the #1 Gaels commanded an 80-49 victory.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows basketball returns to action on Tuesday, when they host the Clear Lake Lions in North Central Conference action at CGD High School, with tipoff at 6 PM.
