Hartnett conference title highlight’s NCC’s for Webster City girls wrestling on Saturday

ALGONA, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx girls wrestling team returned to action on Saturday, as they made the trip into Kossuth County to compete in the 2026 North Central Conference Championships at Algona High School. The Lynx were joined by the host Bulldogs, as well as fellow NCC schools Charles City, Clear Lake, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Humboldt and Iowa Falls-Alden.

Webster City would place 7th in the tournament with a total of 53 points, as the Lynx would crown a conference champion in sophomore Kali Hartnett, who won the 120 pound bracket. Hartnett pinned Clear Lake’s Shaelyn Ulirch in the quarterfinals, defeated Humboldt’s Emilie Schriber by decision in the semifinals, before winning a 12-0 major decision over Algona’s Kayle Vincente-Gomez in the championship match.

Nevaeh Robinson would place 4th at 155, losing her placement match to Humboldt’s Mia Sorenson by a 10-0 major decision. Joyful Ssuubi would place 4th at 170, losing her 3rd place match by fall to Iowa Falls-Alden’s Abigail Janssen, while Abby Heckert place 4th at 190, losing her 3rd place match by fall to Humboldt’s Addie Meyer. Kearsyn Kite placed 5th at 115, while Madison Culver placed 6th at 125.

Webster City girls wrestling returns to action on January 30th, when they compete in their Class 2A, Region 4 tournament at Nevada, beginning at 10 AM.
