WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx basketball teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Southeast Valley Jaguars in non-conference action at Webster City High School. The Lynx girls entered at 4-6, while the Lynx boys entered at 2-6.
Webster City would get off to a quick start in the girls game, leading 17-6, but Southeast Valley hung around in quarter 2 as the Lynx led 31-20 at halftime. The Lynx defense would clamp down in the 3rd quarter, holding the Jaguars scoreless in the frame, as the Lynx were able to coast to a 57-29 victory.
Sophomore Evie Davis had another big night, scoring 24 points and adding 13 rebounds, while junior Tristyn Wright had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals.
In the boys game, Southeast Valley jumped out to an early lead and would keep Webster City at bay throughout the contest as the Lynx fell to the Jaguars 66-45.
William Ruby led Webster City with 16 points, while Coyce Bertran and Jaxon Griffith added 9 points each.
