Webster City wrestling competes in the Allie Morrison Duals on Saturday

MARSHALLTOWN, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx wrestling team returned to action on Saturday, as they made the trip into Marshall County to compete in the annual Allie Morrison Duals at the historic Marshalltown Roundhouse. The Lynx were joined by the host Bobcats, as well as Bondurant-Farrar, Cedar Falls, Johnston and Sioux City East.

Webster City would go 0-5 on the day, opening with a 42-37 loss to Sioux City East. The Lynx would pick up wins by fall from Lincoln Brookshire (113), Tariq Burton (126), Gavin Wynkoop (144) and Andrew Vaughn (150), with a major decision for Angel Ramirez (106), a decision for Eli Estlund (190) and a forfeit for Cody Elliott (215). The Lynx followed up with a 66-6 loss to Johnston, where Webster City picked up 2 wins by decision from Gavin Wynkoop (144) and Cody Elliott (215).

Match 3 saw the Lynx fall to the hosts in Marshalltown by a score of 56-19, as Andrew Vaughn (150) and Eli Estlund (190) won by fall, Angel Ramirez (106) won by major decision and Cody Elliott (215) won by decision. Webster City then lost to Cedar Falls 54-24, as the Lynx picked up wins by fall from Ridge Berninghaus (157) and Eli Estlund (190), decisions from Gavin Wynkoop (144) and Cody Elliott (215) with a forfeit win from Lincoln Brookshire (113).

Webster City wrapped up the day with a 65-15 loss to Bondurant-Farrar, with pinfall victories from Gavin Wynkoop (144) and Andrew Vaughn (150) and a decision from Cody Elliott (215).
