WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx and Eagle Grove Eagles girls wrestling teams returned to action on Monday night, as they welcomed in the Humboldt Wildcats and Charles City Comets for a quad meet at Webster City High School.
Webster City’s girls would go 2-1 on the evening, defeating Eagle Grove 54-18, as the Lynx picked up wins by fall from Ariana Wilson (130), Kearsyn Kite (115), Kali Hartnett (120) and Ana Calles), with forfeit wins from Kate Feltz (140), Kendra Schultz (145), Nevaeh Robinson (155), Joyful Ssuubi (170) and Liberty Gamble (235). Eagle Grove picked up wins by fall from Baylee Steig (135) and Marlee Thompson (110), as Catherine Orozco (100) won by forfeit.
The Lynx would defeat Charles City 45-13, with wins by fall from Nevaeh Robinson (17) and Kali Hartnett (125), with a decision win from Ariana Wilson (130) and forfeit wins from Isabelle McNeil (135), Kate Feltz (140), Joyful Ssuubi (190), Liberty Gamble (235) and Madison Culver (120). Webster City then fell to Humboldt 65-10 with a pin from Ariana Wilson at 135, and a major decision from Kali Hartnett at 120.
Eagle Grove would go 0-3 on the night, with the aforementioned 54-18 loss to Webster City, followed by a 59-18 loss to Humboldt, as the Eagles picked up wins by pin from Keylee Collins (130), Catherine Orozco (100) and Marlee Thompson (110). The Eagles then fell to Charles City 35-18 with forfeit wins for Catherine Orozco, Mya Gilbert and Keylee Collins.
Webster City girls wrestling returns to action on Saturday, when they compete at the North Central Conference Championships, beginning at 10 AM at Algona High School. Eagle Grove girls wrestling returns to action on Friday, when they compete in the Top of Iowa Conference Championships at Osage High School, beginning at 5 PM.
