FORT DODGE, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles basketball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the short trip into Webster County to take on the St. Edmond Gaels in non-conference action at St. Edmond Catholic School. The Eagle girls entered at 2-9, while the Eagle boys entered at 4-7.
St. Edmond would jump on the Eagles early in the girls game, leading 14-6 after the first quarter, a lead that was ballooned to 33-10 at halftime. Eagle Grove’s offense found footing in the 2nd half, but it would not be enough in a 56-28 loss.
Azlyn Amonson led the Eagles with 8 points, while Kendra Schild had 6 points and 4 rebounds. Abby Huss led St. Edmond with 15 points.
The Eagle boys would fall to St. Edmond by a final score of 82-27, as stats were not available on Bound as Tuesday morning.
