Stratford City Council faces a wide range of matters at their first meeting of 2026 this Monday evening.

The Stratford City Council’s first meeting of 2026 will be this Monday evening at 7:00 at the city hall in Stratford. The council will meet with Nancy Baker on the Shakespeare Community Center, a request from Tom Link and Julio Ortiz to address the council about the apartment above 829 Shakespeare Avenue and consider approval of Catherine Bergman as Mayor Pro-Tem as appointed by the Mayor and authorize Bergman to sign the checks in the Mayor’s absence. The council will make appointments to the North Central Iowa Regional Solid Waste Agence, Ioway Creek Watershed  Management Authority,  and the Hamilton and Webster County Emergency Management boards. The Stratford City Council will look at the proposed Survey Proposal from Bolton and Menk. Budget requests from the arbor,library, fire and rescue departments for 2026-27 will be reviewed by the council. A donation request from Upper Des Moines Opportunity for the Fiscal Year 2026-27 will be considered. A three-year Customer Service Agreement for a generator for the Water Plant, the large lift station and small lift station will be reviewed by the council in Stratford plus other matters before the council.
