(2A) #1 Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling sweeps NCC tri with Humboldt and Clear Lake

CLARION, Ia. — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys wrestling team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the Humboldt Wildcats and Clear Lake Lions in North Central Conference action at CGD High School.

CGD would dominate Clear Lake from the get out, winning the dual 66-12 with pinfall wins from Angel Cortes (126), Dawson Beyer (150), Colin Sesker (157), Rylan Morgan (165) and JT Kelso (285), with tech falls from Cole Wibholm (106), Paxton Redenius (113) and Estuardo Lopez (120) and a decision from Easton Beyer (190). The Cowboys also got forfeit wins from Adrian Phetxoumphone (132), Ryan Hartwig (138) and Reed Campbell (144).

The Cowboys followed with a 64-11 win over (2A) #19 Humboldt, as CGD got pinfall wins from Cole Wibholm (106), Ryan Hartwig (138), Easton Beyer (175) and Traesyn Cope (215), with tech falls from Estuardo Lopez (120), Dawson Beyer (150) and Colin Sesker (157), with a major decision from Reed Campbell (144) and a decision from Ryland Morgan (165). Forfeit wins were picked up by Paxton Redenius (113) and JT Kelso (285).

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling returns to action on Saturday, as they host the annual Glen Brand Dual Tournament at CGD High School, beginning at 10 AM.
