WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx boys basketball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Manson-Northwest Webster Cougars in non-conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered with a record of 2-2, while Manson-Northwest Webster entered at 1-6.
Monday’s game would be tightly contested throughout, as the Cougars led 11-9 after the first quarter, before Webster City rallied in the 2nd quarter to take a 25-23 halftime lead. The Cougars were able to tie things up after three at 32-32, before Manson was able to make the plays late to come away with a 45-40 win.
Alex Staley would lead Webster City with 16 points, as Coyce Bertran added 12 points for the Lynx as well.
Webster City basketball returns to action on Tuesday, as they travel to Clear Lake to take on the Lions in North Central Conference action with the girls tipping off at 6 PM on AM 1570 KZWC or streaming online at kqradio.com.
