Four seats will be up for this year in Hamilton County for elected office.

2026 will be a busy election year for state and national office. In Iowa, there will be races for governor, U.S. representative and for U.S. senate. There will also be races for seats in the Iowa legislature this year. In Hamilton County, 2026 will see races for Third District County Supervisor, Attorney, Recorder and Treasurer.  The terms for supervisor Rick Young, attorney Patrick Chambers, recorder Kim Anderson and treasurer Matt Matteson will expire at the end of the year. The primary election date will be Tuesday, June 2nd with the general election date is Tuesday, November 3rd. Information on the nomination process for those wishing to run for office this year will be announced soon by Hamilton County auditor and commissioner of election Kim Schaa.
