Jewell City Council faces a light agenda for its final meeting of the year this week.

The Jewell City Council met for the final time in 2025 last Monday evening. Jewell Public Works director Terry Anderson informed the council that he has been spending a lot of time focusing on improving the water system, including the addition of an EWON communication system and a regal smart chlorine valve. The Jewell City Council will review the Pool Manager job description at their next meeting. The council approved its participation in the Hometown Pride program and to appoint Stacy Alsager as the point person.

Hometown Pride promotes long-term cultural and economic vitality in Iowa’s small towns—strengthening each community and increasing its ability to not only survive, but thrive. This will be a project through the Keep Iowa Beautiful program. There will be more information coming out in 2026.
