Eagle Grove wrestling sweeps home Top of Iowa conference quad

EAGLE GROVE, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles wrestling team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted a Top of Iowa Conference quad dual as the Eagles welcomed in in Newman Catholic, North Butler-Clarksville and Saint Ansgar to Eagle Grove Elementary School.

Eagle Grove would thrash Newman Catholic by a score of 71-12 with pinfall wins from Hunter Waldo Martinez (132), Jackson Babcock (150), Leelan Spencer (157), Caden Hauenstein (165) and James Harle (285), a tech fall from Ethan Schreiber (106) and forfeit wins for Dylan Terwilliger (126), Keegan Eisentrager (138), Colson Schafer (144), Jayde Kreitlow (175), Christian Schild (190) and Reece Demuth (215).

The Eagles then followed up with a 42-19 win over North Butler-Clarksville, with pin wins from Keegan Eisentrager (138) and James Harle (285), tech falls from Hunter Waldo Martinez (132) and Leelan Spencer (157), major decisions from Jackson Babcock (150) and Jayden Kreitlow (175), and decisions from Christian Schild (190) and Reece Demuth (215). Dylan Terwilliger also picked up a forfeit win at 126.

Tuesday’s meet concluded with Eagle Grove defeating Saint Ansgar 48-35, as the Eagles picked up pin wins from Dylan Terwilliger (126), Hunter Waldo Martinez (132), Colson Schafer (144), Jayden Kreitlow (175) and Christian Schild (190), with forfeit wins from Ethan Schreiber (106), Reece Demuth (215) and James Harle (285).

Eagle Grove wrestling returns to action after the New Year, when they compete in the Emmetsburg E-Hawk Duals on January 3rd beginning at 10 AM.
