Webster City wrestling competes in Don Miller Invitational on Saturday

FORT DODGE, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx wrestling team returned to action on Saturday, as they competed in the Don Miller Invitational at Fort Dodge Senior High School in Fort Dodge. The Lynx were joined by the host Dodgers, as well as Algona, Ankeny Centennial, Bishop Heelan, Decorah, Des Moines Roosevelt, Emmetsburg, Forest City, Humboldt, Iowa City West, Lewis Central, Sioux Center and Sioux City East.

Webster City would place 9th with 56.5 points, as their top placer was senior Jaysen Vankham, who placed 3rd at 138, winning his placement match by injury default over Emmetsburg’s Jackson Wilcoxon. Gavin Wynkoop placed 4th at 144, Cody Elliott would place 4th at 215, as Lincoln Brookshire placed 6th at 113.

Webster City wrestling returns to action after the new year, when they host a North Central Conference tri with Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Hampton-Dumont-CAL, beginning at 6 PM.
