CLARION, Ia. — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys and Cowgirls basketball teams returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets in North Central Conference action at CGD High School. The Cowgirls entered at 0-6, while the Cowboys entered at 3-2.
Iowa Falls-Alden would use early pressure to come away with a 55-13 victory over the Cowgirls on Friday. Stats were not available on Bound as of Monday morning.
The boys game followed as the Cowboys would get hot from 3 early, resulting in a 21-8 lead after the 1st quarter, a lead that grew to 39-11 at halftime. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would lay off the gas pedal in the 2nd half to cruise to a 66-34 win.
Chaz Lane had the top night for the Cowboys, finishing with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks, while Johnny Lomeli added 11 points with 3, three-pointers. Karsen Kalous and Collin Pieper led Iowa Falls-Alden with 7 points each.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows basketball returns to action after the new year, when they host Algona in North Central Conference action on January 6th, with tipoff at 6 PM.
