Stratford City Council looks at its outdoor pool leak situation at their meeting Monday night.

This week, the Stratford City Council met with Jim Leiding of the Bolton and Menk engineering firm on the Stratford Swimming Pool exploratory excavation dig to find a leak in the pool. Leiding informed the council that a significant circumferential crack was found on the north side of the wye fitting and a lesser crack on the south side of the wye fitting which is located in front of the concession stand area. It appears that the cause of the leak and with accumulated backfill the leaking water would not get to the surface and is likely getting to the pool underdrain system. tHEY also looked at the two-inch pipe that goes underneath the zero-depth entry to the west along the baby pool and hooks into the baby pool drain. The page standing water in the line and are not able to camera it. This would include a sag inside the line. The water could freeze and damage the pipe. After considerable discussion on this issue, the Stratford City Council approved using LOSST (Local Option Sales and Service Tax) Pool funds to fix the two-inch sagging pipe that goes into the baby pool facility. Work will likely begin once the weather cooperates.

The Stratford City Council voted to approve the Legacy Power Line quote of $41,650 for electrical infrastructure using LOSST funds allocated for infrastructure purposes.. A $10,900 quote from Trailer World,LLC for the purchase of a 14-inch H&H dump trailer was approved this week.
