Webster City girls wrestling competes in Ames Tournament

AMES, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx girls wrestling team returned to action on Saturday, as they competed in the annual Ames Invitational at Ames High School. Webser City was joined by the host Little Cyclones, as well as Cedar Falls, Clear Lake, Columbus Catholic, Davenport Assumption, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Grinnell, Humboldt, Independence, Johnston, Moravia, North Metro, Norwalk, Ottumwa, Perry, Raccoon River-Northwest, Vinton-Shellsburg, West Des Moines Girls Wrestling, Western Christian and Winterset.

Webster City placed 16th with a total of 33 points, as the Lynx’s top placer was Liberty Gamble, who finished 4th at 235 with a 1-3 record. Joyful Ssuubi was 5th at 190, as Kate Feltz placed 8th at 140.

Webster City girls wrestling returns to action on Tuesday, when they compete in the Lady Eagle Invitational at Eagle Grove Elementary School, with action beginning at 5 PM.
