South Hamilton wrestling finishes 8th at Doug Wood Invitational

MANSON, Ia. — The South Hamilton Hawks wrestling team opened their 2025-26 season on Saturday, as they made the trip to Calhoun County to compete in the annual Doug Wood Invitational at Manson-Northwest Webster High School in Manson. The Hawks were joined by the host Cougars, as well as Alta-Aurelia, East Sac County, MMCRU, Ogden, St. Edmond, South Central Calhoun, West Bend-Mallard and Woodbury Central.

South Hamilton placed 8th with 70.5 points, as their top placer was Brody Harris, who placed 3rd at 285 pounds, winning his 3rd place match over Alta-Aurelia’s Wilson Alpet by a 10-4 decision. Holden Moore placed 4th at 138, as Parker Stuck placed 4th at 215. Kyler Ziesman placed 5th at 175, while Garret Rogers was 5th at 190, as Hagen Klein was 6th at 120 and Trace Junker was 6th at 157 to round out placers for the Hawks.

South Hamilton wrestling returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Collins-Maxwell for a quad dual with CMB, Nevada and Knoxville, beginning at 5:30 PM.
