GILBERT, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen wrestling team opened their 2025-26 season on Thursday night, as they made the short jog west across Highway 69 to compete in a quad meet at Gilbert High School. The Norsemen were joined by the host Tigers, as well as the Ballard Bombers and the Humboldt Wildcats.
Roland-Story opened with a 46-29 win over Ballard, as the Norsemen picked up pinfall wins from Noah Healy (120), Caiden Latch (138), Colin Grundlingh (175), Roman Stotts (215) and Gavin Jeter (285). Wins were also picked up by major decision from Konnor Blume (113), decisions from Greysun Lein (150) and Chance Georgius (190) and a forfeit for Denver Reisetter (106).
The Norsemen then defeated Gilbert by a score of 46-34, as they picked up pinfall wins from Noah Healy (120), Greysun Lein (150), Chance Georgius (190) and Roman Stotts (215), tech falls from Kael Ammerman (126) and Caiden Latch (138) and forfeits for Denver Reisetter (106) and Konnor Blume (113).
Thursday’s final dual saw Roland-Story fall to Humboldt by a score of 50-26, as the Norsemen picked up wins by fall from Blake Loof (144), Greysun Lein (150) and Roman Stotts (215), a tech fall from Caiden Latch (138) and a decision from Konnor Blume (113).
Roland-Story wrestling returns to action on Friday, when they compete in the Cliff Keen Invitational in Independence, beginning at 2 PM on Friday afternoon.
