MANLY, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles wrestling team opened their 2025-26 season on Thursday night, as they made the trip into far northern Iowa to compete in a Top of Iowa Conference tri-dual with the Central Springs Panthers and Forest City Indians at Central Springs High School in Manly.
Eagle Grove would open with a 37-34 loss to the hosts in Central Springs, as the Eagles picked up pinfall wins from Kylar Sisson (126), Jackson Babcock (150) and Reece Demuth, a major decision from Ethan Schreiber (113), and decisions from Colson Schafer (144) and Hayden Schafer (157).
The Eagles then bounced back with a 41-33 win over Forest City, picking up pinfall wins from Jackson Babcock (150), Christian Schild (190) and Reece Demuth, a tech fall from Hayden Schafer (157), decisions from Kylar Sisson (126) and Hunter Waldo Martinez (132) and forfeits from Ethan Schreiber (106) and James Harle (285).
Eagle Grove wrestling returns to action on Friday, when they compete at the Joe Fitch Invitational at Humboldt High School, beginning at 4:30 PM.
