Corbin welcomed in as a new Jewell City Council member this week.

Karl Corbin was officially sworn in Friday,November 21st as the newest member of the Jewell City Council. Corbin began his duties at last Monday’s meeting of the council. The council voted to approve the Electric Pump Quote for the EWON remote access for$3,845 with the stipulation that there would be a written agreement to relinquish the rights to the city. The motion was approved by a 5 to 0 vote. Chris Kehoe from The Trashman of Webster City to touch base with the council last Monday. At the end of August, the Trashman acquired additional routes from American Sanitation. Beginning in January,all trash and recycling in the city of Jewell will be picked up on Thursdays. They will discontinue the option of using yellow bags as disposal,  however, they will honor them for a little while. Residents of Jewell who do not have a trash can, please reach out to The Trashman for a can. You are advised to contact the Trashman if you have any questions. At their next meeting on December 8th, the Jewell City Council will take action on a Community Development Block Grant and Environmental Review.
