The Iowa State Patrol investigated a two-vehicle accident at the northbound 141-mile marker on Interstate 35 near Williams at mid-morning on Thursday. Reportedly a northbound 2004 model Ford F-15 pickup truck operated by Brian Frye of Williams was on the left lane overtaking a northbound 2020 model Ford Expedition SUV operated by Dustin Karraker of Gardner, Kansas. The Frye pickup reportedly failed to keep in his lane and side swiped the Karraker SUV on the driver’s rear side. Frye told the trooper he was falling asleep at the time of the accident. Damage to the Frye pickup was estimated at $500 with the damage to the Karraker SUV at $2,000. Investigating state trooper Jesse Davenport cited Brian Frye with Failure to Yield half of the Roadway on Thursday.
