FORT DODGE — The Eagle Grove Eagles girls wrestling team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the short trip into Webster County to compete in the Fort Dodge Early Bird Tournament at Fort Dodge Senior High School. The Eagles were joined by the host Dodgers, as well as Algona, Boone and Des Moines Public Schools.
Marlee Thompson would go 2-0 on the day with a win by pinfall and major decision at 115 pounds, as Catherine Orozco went 1-1 with a pinfall win over Fort Dodge’s Lydia Cowell at 100 pounds.
Morgan Keller would go 1-2 at 120 pounds with a pinfall win over Amanda Geist-Rochau, as Keylee Collins would go 0-2 at 135 pounds and Keely Peterson went 1-2 at 155 pounds, with a pinfall win over Lydia Hersom of Algona.
Eagle Grove placed 5th in the tournament with 30 points, and return to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Lady E-Hawk Invitational at Emmetsburg, beginning at 10 AM.
