At their meeting back on Monday evening, the South Hamilton Community School Board met with three members of the FFA program to discuss their recent trip to Indianapolis for the group’s convention. The board from its FFA instructor Carlton Ness on the South Hamilton FFA Chapter receiving the National 2 Star rating for its activities during last academic year. A cooperative agreement with Northwestern College was accepted by the board for teacher education candidates for practicum, field experience, student teaching or internship at South Hamilton.
The South Hamilton Board approved the bid from Seamless Pros for snow removal for the winter season with a call-out stipulation of 2 inches or as requested. Two requests for early graduation were approved. The students will receive their diplomas at the end of the first semester in January pending the completion of all requirements for graduation. An offer was approved for an early retirement package to administration, certified and classified staff for the 2025-26 school year as presented and expressed intent to offer an early retirement package for next five years. Information about the early retirement packages will be emailed this week to staff.
In other matters on Monday evening, the South Hamilton School board approved the sharing agreement for girls wrestling with the Webster City Community School District.There is one high school student who intends to participate. An Affirmative Action Plan for 2025-2027 was approved. The South Hamilton Board approved the At-Risk/Dropout Prevention Plan and the Mentoring and Induction Plan for this current academic year.
In personnel matters, the South Hamilton Board accepted the hiring of Lucas Davidson as an Elementary Associate and Nate Stuck as a Wrestling Mat Assistant and a renewal for Steve Neuberger as Girls Assistant Basketball Coach. The resignation of Todd Coy as 7th through 12th grade principal was accepted to take effect May 29,2026 due to his retirement. The work on the auxiliary gym project continues with the final design development set for November 19th.
