With one week to go before Election Day, Webster City voters Tuesday evening attended the city council Candidate’s Forum held at Kendall Young Library. Three of the four candidates were in attendance at the 45-minute forum. The candidates in attendance were John Hawkins, John Marvel and Tyler Moen. City council candidate Ashley Allers was absent from last night’s forum due to attending the Van Diest Medical Center board meeting since she is the Chief Financial Officer for the hospital providing the financial report for the center. A wide range of questions were posed to the three candidates in attendance ranging from the condition of downtown buildings to bringing businesses to the community to child day care to working with the Webster City Community School District among others. The council candidates held in moment of silence at last night’s forum to honor the memory of Phil Voge who served as a Webster City city council member and mayor. Voge died on Sunday at the age of 69.
Webster City voters will cast their ballots next Tuesday, November 4th at the Ed Prince Building on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. for the voters to cast ballots for the Webster City city council, Kendall Young Library board, Fuller Hall board and the Webster City Community School board.
