Hunboldt-The Iowa State Patrol investigated a one vehicle accident in Humboldt at 8:45 Wednesday night at Sixth Avenue North and U.S Highway 169. The accident report stated that a northbound 2025 model Nissan Murano Platinum SUV driven by Ruth Lindgren of Algona left the roadway striking a fire hydrant and tree. The Lindgren SUV came to rest upside down on Highway 169 in the southbound lane. Lindgren was transported to the Humboldt County Hospital by Humboldt EMS for treatment of her injuries. The damage to the Lindgren SUV was totaled in the Wednesday crash. Damage to the fire hydrant was estimated at $1,500.
