WEBSTER CITY — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Mason City Riverhawks in Class 4A, Region 3 action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 20-13, while Mason City entered at 8-24 out of the Iowa Alliance.
Set 1 would be controlled by Webster City throughout much of the set in a 25-17 win, as the Lynx controlled most of the 2nd set, but Mason City made a late push that would be fended off as Webster City took a 2-0 lead with a 25-21 win. Mason City would build on that momentum with a win in set 3 by a margin of 25-21, but that momentum would vanish as Webster City would dominate the 4th set for a 25-10 win and 3-1 victory.
The KQWC Player of the Game was Webster City junior Tristyn Wright, who finished with a game-high 16 kills, while Ashlee Nydegger added 7 kills, as Evie Davis had 4 kills and 6 blocks. Lovie Pruismann added 4 kills and 36 assists.
