(3A) #10 Roland-Story dominates Hampton-Dumont-CAL in playoff opener, 3-0

STORY CITY — The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in Class 3A, Region 5 action at Roland-Story High School. The Norsemen entered at 32-7 and ranked #10 in Class 3A, while Hampton-Dumont-CAL entered at 4-22 out of the North Central Conference.

Things started off well for Roland-Story as they controlled the opening set by a score of 24-14, as the controlling turned into a domination. The Norsemen would win set 2 by a score of 25-12, before thrashing the Bulldogs in set 3 by a score of 25-7 to capture a 3-0 victory.

Junior Brookelyn Jondle finished with a team-high 12 kills, 2 aces and a block, while Maddi Lucas, Caitlyn Flattebo and Emma Truesdell all added 7 kills a piece. Miley Geise added 4 kills and 34 assists on the night.

Roland-Story volleyball advances to face Williamsburg, who defeated PCM 3-0 on Tuesday night, in the Class 3A, Region 5 semifinal with first serve at 7 PM on Thursday night at Roland-Story High School.
