Webster City volleyball outlasts Fort Dodge on senior night, 3-2

WEBSTER CITY — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Fort Dodge Dodgers in non-conference action for senior night at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 16-10, while Fort Dodge entered at 4-19.

Webster City started things well on Tuesday night, taking down the Dodgers 25-17 in set 1, but Fort Dodge responded well, winning 25-21 in set 2 and 25-12 in set 3 to take a 2-1 lead. The Lynx were far from done as they controlled set 4 by a score of 25-15, before winning a marathon of a 5th set by a score of 20-18 and winning the match 3-2.

Lynx junior Tristyn Wright would have a monster match, tallying a career-high 27 kills with 3 blocks, while Evie Davis had 6 kills and 7 blocks. Hailey Brim added 4 aces while Alivia Burns had 3 aces.

Webster City volleyball returns to action on Thursday, as they wrap-up NCC play and the regular season by taking on Clarion-Goldfield-Dows with first serve at 7 PM in Clarion, and can be heard on 95.7 KQWC or streaming online at kqradio.com.
